

Reynaldo Barajas Lechuga, a native Phoenician, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on August 25, 1954, to Peter R. Lechuga and Juana B. Gonzales, Rey was known for his humorous and loyal nature.
Rey had a passion for cooking and worked as a chef, delighting many with his culinary skills. Rey proudly served 14 years in the Air Force, skilled in Food Service, and civil engineering duties known as Red Horse Squadron 823. Rey was very proud when his grandson Marcus followed him into the Air Force.
He married his wife Sabrina on August 2, 1996, and is survived by her, along with seven children: Desiree (Peter Armadillo) Garcia, Marcos (Liz) Garcia, Juana Lechuga, Gabriella Rose Claybrooks, Julie Lechuga, Renee (Matthew) Nonya, and Alexandra Montoya. Reynaldo's legacy continues proudly through his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Beyond his professional life, Rey enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was known for being fun, a bit crazy, a jokester, and a people person, singing all the time. Above all, he was a dedicated family man.
Visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona, on January 26, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on January 27, 2025, starting at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Committal service with military honors will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 East Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, Arizona, at 12:30 pm.
