Sal famously had a huge sweet tooth, and had an affinity for Ding Dongs, Nutty Bars, cookies, and candy, and he quenched his thirst with RC Cola. His favorite meal was a home-cooked pozole, but only if it was made with oxtail. He was a devoted fan of the Dodgers and Raiders. Sal also had a passion for drawing, which led him to him being a tattoo artist. He loved listening to music and cherished being around his family.
He is survived by his mother, Olga Montenegro, and his two brothers, Steven and Simon Montenegro. Sal leaves behind his four children: Sylvia Montenegro, Salvador Montenegro Jr, Sonny Montenegro, and Salvador Montenegro, along with 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Simon John Montenegro and Sonny Montenegro, as well as his father, Steven Villa Montenegro and daughter Sessie Montenegro.
A visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona, 85301, on July 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Sal's spirit and love for life will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
