Sam was born August 22, 1934 in Chicago to Peter and Elizabeth Pitassi. He met the love of his life, Sandra, in Chicago and the two married July 7, 1962. Sam is known for his warm smile, huge heart, unending kindness and extraordinary capacity to love and care for his family. Sam had become a mentor to many young people over the span of his life and he is remembered for his special way of encouraging, supporting and teaching without judgement. He is preceded in death by his lovely Sandra and his parents. He is survived by his children Sam P. (Susan) Pitassi, Sue (Mark) Allen, Sheryl M. Pitassi (Gary) Birks; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and Brother-in-Law Kenneth Shukstor; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. 2 beloved brothers and 3 sisters also preceded him in death.
