Sandra Louise Baker

She was born in Phoenix on September 3, 1941 to the late Guy and Margaret Phelps.

Sandra attended Creighton Elementary and Phoenix Union High School, which was the start of many life long PUHS friends.

Sandra married Jerome Baker on February 14, 1959, and began a new life in Pacific Palisades, California. They had four children, which kept Sandra busy as a full-time mom, organizing many Cub Scout and Girl Scout meetings and attending many of her children’s sporting events. Sandra became a Kindergarten aid at the school her children attended, Corpus Christi, and loved working with children. She worked there for 15 years and then retired so she could spend more time with her new grandchildren. Although they divorced, Sandra and Jerome remained friends and spent time together with their children and grandchildren.

Sandra is survived by her former husband Jerome Baker, her four children Michael Baker, Gregory (Serah) Baker, Suzanne (Tom) Junk, & Keith (Georgina) Baker, brother John Phelps, six grandchildren Lauren Baker, Emily Junk, Audrey Baker, Adam Junk, Sam Baker, & Sophie Trevino, and many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Katy Keith & brother Dutch Phelps.

There will be a immediate family only graveside service at Resthaven Park Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held in the coming months.
