Sherry Sue Goolsby Berrett

Sherry entered this world on the 11 Sept. 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri and passed into the next world on 29 May 2023 at her youngest son’s home, James, in Peoria, AZ. With the love and care of her son and Hospice Care. She was the oldest child born to Lester Wren and Kathleen B. Goolsby of five children. Sherry moved to Arizona when she was 16 years old with her family in 1955 for health reasons for her younger brother.

Sherry attended Phoenix Junior College and finished her education in Nevada as a Paralegal for the City of Attorney in North Las Vegas, NV. Upon retiring she moved back to Phoenix to help take care of her aging parents. Sherry was involved with the Sorority Alpha Omicron an Arizona Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International for many years. Sherry had a big heart for animals, always having and taking care of them on her doorstep. Her faithful kitty “Stray Kitty” will miss her dearly.

Sherry is predeceased by her parents, her oldest son, John Joseph (J.J.) Itule, two brothers, Gary and Lester (Buba) Goolsby & a niece, Rhonda Goolsby Gonzales.

She is survived by her loving son, James Itule, two brothers, Terry J. (Sandy) and Larry G. (Madeline) Goolsby, five grandchildren, James, John, Katie, Kaylie and Paul, three step grandchildren, Tori, Douglas and Danielle, two great granddaughters Lylah & Ryatt, four nephews, Terry, Wren, Loren & Jason Goolsby and her faithful friends, Pat & Donna and Michelle.

Sherry was a friend to all and someone who could be called upon if her family or any animal needed help. Sherry was a humble, kind, and trustworthy and caring lady. She will dearly be missed by her loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service, on what would have been Sherry’s 84th birthday, Monday, September 11, 2023 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ. Time to be determined.
