

Teddy Wayne Beatty, 92, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 24, 2022, surrounded by his family. Ted was born in Vinson, Oklahoma to Frank and Mattie Beatty on June 14, 1929 where he grew up until the age of 13. He moved to Anaheim, Calfornia and then on to Arizona where he finished his schooling and would spend the rest of his life. He met the love of his life, Leona Hockersmith, at a town dance held at Murphy Park in Glendale, Arizona and then married her in 1951. That same year he was drafted by the Army and fought in the Korean War as a medic from 1951-1952. The birth of his first daughter Deborah came in 1953, followed by his second daughter Marsha in 1956 and then his son Wayne in 1958. In 1989, he retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, traveling in his motorhome and reading classic Westerns and books by Stephen King. He loved visiting with friends and especially spending time with his family. Ted will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Ted was predeceased by his loving wife, Leona, of 38 years, his mother, father and his older brother Rodie. Ted is survived by his daughter, Debbie Spieles, daughter Marsha (Paul) Leksell, son Wayne Beatty; grandchildren, April (Gabe) Gavriilidis, Jenny Spieles, Teddy Leksell, Erik (Heather) Beatty, Andreanna Beatty; great grandchildren, Orlando (Ali) Leksell, Evyeni and Steven Gavriilidis, Ashlynn Spieles, Zoey Leksell; and great-great grandchildren, Atlas and Charlotte Leksell; numerous nieces and nephews, and several bonus grandchildren, respected and loved by all.
