

Victorina Mendez Lopez, a hard-working, beloved, and resilient woman, passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on November 23, 1932, in Charlotte, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Juana and Octiviano Lopez. Her mother was a elementary teacher, and her father worked in construction. Victoria grew up with three brothers and one sister.
Victoria dedicated her life to her work, beginning her career in the agriculture sector, specifically in the cotton fields. She later transitioned to manufacturing, where she worked tirelessly for over 38 years until her retirement.
As a beloved mother, Victoria's family was her pride and joy. She was the mother of 12 children, and her legacy extends to 35 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Victoria had a vibrant personality and a wide array of interests. She loved to dance at Nohanoha, the Calderon Nightclub, and the Cita Nightclub. She enjoyed making clothes for her children, sewing baby doll clothes for her grandchildren and frequently visited the casino. Victoria also had a passion for the rodeo and enjoyed listening to Spanish singers. Her culinary skills were unmatched, as she was known for making the best tortillas, tamales, and chili.
An outspoken, very direct, and blunt person, Victoria cherished her family above all else. Her legacy lives on through her extensive family and the countless memories they shared.
Victorina Mendez Lopez will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her feisty spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
