Winifred Juanita Murphy

Winifred Juanita Murphy, 92, passed away 10/24/16. She was born in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada on June 12, 1924 to Freeman and Helena Lonsdale. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Murphy (Murph) and her son Patrick Shane Murphy (Spud). She is survived by her son John R. Murphy (Paddy) and Arlene of Wasilla AK, daughter Helena F. Murphy (Mickey) and Bill Gatzke of Vancouver, WA, daughter Maureen D. Baker (Irish) of Phoenix AZ and daughter Coleen T. Barnett (Mike) and Leonard of Glendale AZ and daughter-in-law Patricia Murphy of Victoria, BC Canada. The nicknames involve a long story. There are also numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and daughters and sons of the heart.

Winnie retired from Industrial Indemnity Insurance Company in Anchorage, AK. She was a proud Canadian and loved traveling. She and “Murph” lived in a motorhome for 8 years after they retired. They traveled the world extensively including an around the world tour and numerous cruises.

Services are on Saturday, October 29 at 1pm and will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary located at 7924 N. 59th Avenue in Glendale, Arizona.
