Menchie was many things to many people: an incredible mother, a loving wife, a beloved sister, a devoted daughter, a successful career woman, a caring aunt, a supportive friend, an experienced and empathetic mentor, a wonderful host, a force of nature.
Menchie exuded grace, dignity, pride, love, and care. She possessed a passion for exploring the world, second only to her passion for family.
Not just her travels, but her accomplishments span continents where her tireless and effective work took her from San Miguel and Philippine Refining in Manila to Unilever and to Philip Morris and Kraft Foods. Philip Morris sent her to their New York offices in 1998, where she took along her young family to live. She eventually oversaw global operations for Altria and Kraft as one of only 6 Global Directors of Strategy with numerous accolades where she honed her expertise in international logistics. Her work required extensive travels from India to Switzerland, Hong Kong to New York, and many other countries, enriching her own knowledge and also the experience of the people that she collaborated with and managed.
Through the myriad of travels and the keen execution of well-planned projects, Menchie would always return to her family where her dedication, unconditional love, and affection were well received. There was never a call or text to Menchie that would not be returned, no stones left unturned for her family and loved ones. She was always ready with open arms to welcome guests into her home and heart. She was the family’s ultimate party planner and would always provide the best solution. She sees the positive in most things and generously offers praise and support, but also offers the sturdiest shoulders one can cry on. Her love for her family is a driving force that is still felt today.
Menchie has left a great impression wherever she goes and with whomever she meets. She leaves us too soon, but with hearts heavy with love and gratitude for an incredible and beautiful person both outside and in her heart. She will be sorely missed, but soothed with warm and happy memories.
