After a battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and stage 4 pancreatic cancer, David Lee Triggs, age 75, of Los Angeles, California passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. David was born to Leah and Morton N. Triggs November 14, 1946 in Lynn, Massachusetts.
David attended St. Mary's School in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn Trade High School.
He took the name Christopher when he was confirmed in the Catholic church.
His survivors include his wife of 26 years, Linda Triggs, his five children, Wilbert, Christine, Krystale, Christopher, Sarah, son-in-law Scott Harding, only granddaughter Delilah, his brother, Charles and sister-in-law, Linda. His nephew, Andrew, passed away in 2013.
David was a fun-loving and witty man. At a young age he recalled making Charles a peanut butter and jelly bean sandwich in their youth.
Specializing in retail management, David took great pride in his work. He spent almost 20 years working for Kmart and nine years for Providence St. Joseph Medical Center before his two heart attacks in 2004. In his early retirement, David was devoted to his role as the supportive father to all of his children. He always encouraged his children to go above and beyond and carried great pride in all of their endeavors.
Sometimes referred to as the Mayor of Eagle Rock, David was well known throughout the Eagle Rock community. You could find him soliciting at Ralphs, Sprouts, Super A, Trader Joes, Home Depot, Universal Bank, Happy Donut, and Donut Star, where he would meet workers and customers alike. He inquired, listened, and learned people’s stories with a sense of selflessness that is rare among many.
David’s warmth and presence will sorely be missed by every life he’s touched. But he would want nothing more than every one of us to go above and beyond our full potential.
He will be cremated and return home to The Triggs Manor.
A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glendale Funeral Home, 511 South Central Avenue, Glendale, CA 91204. A visitation will occur Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glendale Funeral Home.
