Unbelievable that it is a year later!  To the Triggs family:  The loss is great but I hope God continues to give you strength, hope and the cherishing of all the memories!

I met David when our daughter was attending Providence High School.  David daughter Christine and my daughter LeLoni were best friends. They were on sports teams and David and I were always at the various sports games and events.  We would sit together and chatted all the time.  He brought such joy to the conversation and we laughed a lot.   Sometimes we would talk so long the kids would say “Let’s  Go, we are tired”. He always had a story to tell me and would always end with a smile.
Yes, he will be missed but the great stories  and memories  will be with me all the days of my life.  So blessed to have known him. 

To my compadre Dave Triggs. You are one of kind!  Friend with good heart, very kind hearted. I am one of The Godfathers to your youngest daughter Sarah when she was christened/baptized. It was an honor indeed to be part of your family. 
Goodbye my friend. Rest in Paradise and May God welcome you to His Kingdom.

You made us feel at home in a new place. A neighbor anyone would love to have.   Always full of cheerful anecdotes and helpful advice. Our sons bonded as life long friends. Our families linked with happy memories. We were sad when we had to leave our old place, but you gifted us with an apple tree to plant anew. We were joyful  to have seen you one last time with you smiling at the painting we brought for your wellness. A painting that represents your family, strong and happy together, able to thread the waters of life because you made it so. Rest easy in the hands of God our dear friend. 

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing dad would remember him as one of the friendliest and wisest men you could ever meet. He always had a lot of love to give, and he really looked out for and brought out the best in everyone. From the little things, like how to shave and how to tie a tie, to the big things, like how to carry myself and live life to the fullest, dad taught me many lessons that I will be carrying with me for the rest of my life. Chances are that if you knew David Triggs and are reading this now, you were also blessed with wisdom from my dad and you also have a lesson, or multiple, he left with you. One of the last lessons dad shared with me was to “have conviction” and to “make your dreams come true.” Dad believed that dreams did not simply come true on their own, but it was still possible for everyone’s dreams and goals to come true when they set their hearts and minds to it… to not only ask, but to keep asking, to keep working and persevering, and you shall receive. My dad believed anyone was capable of anything when they set their minds to it, and he certainly was a prime example of this mantra. He smiled and laughed through many hardships and came out even stronger, and he achieved his dreams of sharing his love and wisdom to everyone along the way. If there is any one thing you could do to pay your respects to dad, it would be to share your love and wisdom with others and to “make your dreams come true” just as he did. Dad knows and believes you can make it happen.

Today David, we  " stop all the clocks " in Auden's words to honor a life that you've lived to the max.  As we grieve deeply and mourn of
your passing through the lens of loss, the new absence now becomes actually a blessing, a sudden reminder of our own mortality , the living. I am abundantly  grateful to GOD for arranging our paths to cross. I know deep in your soul, your desire to serve  never ends but somehow, God's plan for you is beyond our understanding. Am certain that the angels & saints above are glorifying the good deeds you've planted here on earth. Farewell, my friend. It is now your time to rest.

A frigid, typical Laramie night, in the year of your lord of nineteen-eighty something, before my learned constructions of "Starry Nights and Sunflowers", an etching of this Don Mclean melody became eternally engraved into a memory of yesteryear, as we traversed through snowy streets, returning from another one of the occasional, cyclical outings, from our habitual dining haunt: "The Hong Kong of the West"; bellies full, "Vincent", softly permeates into the warming, car heater's air, smelling of tungsten, mixing with the muddled, inaudible voices of my mother and father, who occupied the front half of this beast of a Chevy wagon, content with amazement, as the landscape from my seated perspective of the rear bedded seats, gives illusion of a world disappearing into nothing, through the frosted over rear window... My beloved husband Dave,
When our eyes met in September of 1993, I know then that you were a good man and a good father. In April 2, 1995, we got married. We have each other. The odds were against us because of our age differences and I'm also inherited three children from you automatically. And that is proven in our relationship that age doesn't matter and love conquers all. We built our lives together as a family with full of love, faith, hopes, dreams, loyalty, compassion and respect. After four years of our marriage, our God gave us our son Chris and sixteen months later we had our daughter Sarah. We were busy raising a family but we both know that we are blessed as a family for having a beautiful children, the big ones, little ones and our grandbaby Delilah came along in our lives. My love for you and our children, our memories we had I will be cherish forever. I am strong when I have you on my side. And for the past seven months, I stood by you and care for you and those days and nights I hold on to my Faith even more stronger because you were a fighter and never give up. I need to be strong for you. Caring and being with you, sharing the moments we had taught me a lot in life; love, patience, and being a compassionate soul. You always said to our friends, family, nurses they've visited you in our house that I was your angel. Yes! I was your angel when you were here on earth but now You are my angel watching over us. You gave so much love and encouraging words for the many and that was your legacy that can never be forgotten for those hearts you touched. I am forever blessed and grateful for knowing you, loving you, and for being part of our lives. May you have everlasting life and resting peace with our Creator.

The first time I met Dave I had an impression that this man is friendly, simple and humble. Actually he encouraged me to write another book and keep me to do the best. He is an encourager and supportive. God bless you Dave.

David and I met in Hollywood while we both waited patiently while our daughters were in line at a Hot Topic store  to get autographs from the Twenty-Nine Pilot’s  band years ago.  During the many hours we waited for our daughters, I could tell he really loved his family.  He especially talked about his daughter  and how he had bought tickets for her to go see the band perform.  
David was a gentle, kind man who loved his family very much!  I know he is resting in peace .  Death is not the end.  It is just a new beginning.  Rest In Peace David!

Aside from chauffeuring all his children, Dad would make rounds to check on his pet grandson and send the best selfies.

Hey kids, 
No words can help in this time of grief and sorrow. Given David's prognoses, no one could be surprised at this notice. David fought a courageous battle against a formidable disease, one that precious few survive, small consolation at this time, but know David gave his all! This-helpless, hopeless feeling we all share, while, not new to most of us, have taught us that we know that faith, hope, and Love, in time lessens the loss so deep currently is all we have. Cherish all you have shared, The memories, times, and love Love shared,, this cannot be tarnished with David's passing. We all leave this world with Legacy, some loftier than others, but to this family, David's life was full, enjoyed, he loved- and was loved. Not a bad legacy at all! Our last chat on your birthday Charles, we discussed the latter years, we laughed nervously, while knowing these moments we now experience; will occur and more frequently in our years ahead. May we all be thankful for having David in our lives.

My brother David,
No one can ever know how hard this is for me to try to express my deep feelings for the brother David. We were seven years difference in our ages and in how we were raised. I was raised in my early years, with shortages, a tight economy and all the things that go along with one's country being at war. David on the other hand came along in the post war years, with booming economy and a whole new sense of openness by all those authorities who rule over our young lives. With me it was speak when you're spoken to. With David it was chime in if you have something to say. I have often been told that there is a huge difference between David and me. Yes! And I fully see and understand this.
David was in the doghouse with me for a while, and we suffered an estranged relationship for an all too long a time. That was mostly due to me. David went through many changes once he moved to California. He worked hard for K-mart for may years. He married again while he still worked for K-mart and they had two children and adopted a third. After K-mart transferred him to Wyoming, and they settled in, he and his wife opened a modest gift shop. K-mart downsized him, and they closed up shop and moved back to California. David struggled to keep the wolf at bay and from there the struggle got harder.
David worked hard doing any kind of work to care for his family. It seems that it had been a very long while before he met Emelinda. That was the best thing that could have ever happened to him. Twenty-six years and two more children joined the family.
We will miss David and the wonderful times we shared.

I will never forget on how Uncle Dave embraced and treated me and noel as a family since we moved to United States. He was so welcoming.  He never lost his faith on us. He was so encouraging and inspiring  in pursuing our path. He had no idea on how much he helped and guided us all these years.  We are all so grateful of his love. He will be missed. Our family gatherings will never be the same without our dear Uncle Dave. We love him so dearly.

My family met David and his two teenage daughters at the FilAm Family dance troupe managed by Tita Betty. I remember him as an affable, kind and a devoted father. We usually meet during dance practices and performances of our children at events like weddings, baptisms, fashion shows and an international folk dance contests (in Mexico). 

There's no other father who could've raised such a beautiful family. Dad was the most supportive human being you'd ever know. He spent his life in service to anyone he could lend a hand to. Whether a long time friend or first time meeting, Dad was keen to finding your entire life story, learning your family members, and relating to your struggles. Full of love and compassion, "dad" jokes and certain lightheartedness, Dad, David, Dave, Uncle Dave, Pop, Pop-Pop has imprinted his soulful legacy on anyone he's crossed paths with. May perpetual light shine upon you (Pop), May you rest in peace. 

If you were fortunate enough to know Dave then you know what a special man he was. If you were fortunate enough to be his friend then you were truly blessed. We have known and loved Dave and his family for almost 20 years. We quickly became the best of friends and he became "my brother from another mother" and Linda and my wife were like sisters. In all my life I never met a nicer, kinder, more generous, loving man than Dave. Thank you, Linda, for the tireless loving care you gave To Dave. You were his "Angel".
