Michael was a beloved father to Glenn & Greg, grandfather to Steven, Micheal & AJ and a loving companion to Eileen. He was generous & kind to everyone he met and treated everyone the same. We lovingly referred to him as “Big Mike, the King of Queens”.
A perfect day for Micheal would be to sit at the Dining Room table sharing a meal and conversation or sitting in his recliner with a blueberry corn muffin in front of the TV.
After 90 good years, he went home to the Father after a short two-month illness. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him, and we will all take away so many precious memories of our time together with him.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Werst & LaBella Funeral Home on Thursday, March 27th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass for Michael will be at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Middle Village on Friday at 10:45 am.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook, NY.
