Philip was born in Brooklyn on January 5th, 1946 to Joseph, a shoemaker, and Vincenza, a seamstress and dressmaker, and grew up along with his younger sister Frances.
Phil grew up an avid archer, loved all things medieval, enjoyed classical music and fencing, even joining his high school fencing team at Automotive High School.
He enjoyed dressing sharply for many date nights at the movies and hanging out with friends at their social club.
After high school, Phil served his country by joining the United States Navy and excelled at being an aviation electrician, working on all types of airplanes and fighter jets, and traveling the world before serving in Vietnam.
He continued his love of electricity by becoming a District Operator for Consolidated Edison after he came home from the service.
After retiring, he joined a group of like-minded medieval lovers who put on many Renaissance Faires. He honed his art and love of leather working by selling his handmade goods at these faires. Some of his best sellers included scabbards; quivers; hair clips; circlets; bracelets; keychains; belts and any other leather good you can think of. It is a comfort to his family that his memory will live on and not be forgotten through every piece that he made with love and patience that continues to be worn by customers and friends alike.
Philip is survived by his wife Patricia, son Philip (Sapna) and daughter Andrea.
P.S.
His family fears they will never find anything in the basement ever again because he is the only one that knew where everything was in every little nook and cranny!"
A visitation for Philip will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Werst & LaBella Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave, Glendale, NY 11385.
