Robert Mueller was born in Bethany Deaconess Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, on March 8th to Regina and August Mueller. He grew up to be a hard-working, sports-loving young man and a big history buff. Rob was also a connoisseur of all types of fine foods, especially his mom’s apple strudel. Rob/Bob/Big Bob (6’5”), Bobby, grew up in Ridgewood on Fresh Pond Road, and later moved with the family to Glendale. He attended St. Pancras School and Grover Cleveland High School.
Rob was a passionate New York Islanders hockey fan. Actually, all sports interested him and he participated in ice hockey, baseball, basketball, football and bowling throughout his life. He also coached teenagers in Dek Hockey at Farmers Oval (Mafera Park) in Ridgewood.
He is survived by his loving, younger sister, Lorraine, his Aunt Erna, cousins, five (5) godsons, and numerous friends. Loved by many in the community, Rob will be sorely missed by all who knew him, especially for his generous heart and caring and compassionate nature. A faithful member of St. Pancras church, he will be missed by many priests and congregants. Rob was also an excellent storyteller and a supreme joke teller. He delighted in making people laugh.
