The Lord he carried his passion and zest for life into all his endeavors,
inspiring many to find such joy.
Successfully raising two talented children with his loving wife Gretchen,
he was a loving and encouraging father to Julia and Joshua. Curt graduated
from Humboldt State University, Arcata, California, Department of Resource
Planning and Interpretation. Curt’s passion for renewable energy passed to
his son, Joshua, who follows in his father’s footsteps.
Curt was decades ahead of his time in advancing clean energy technology
and water conservation. His passionate efforts developing energy
efficiency and water conservation programs for the State of Nevada led him
to further sustainability programs and activities. This included his work
with Washington State’s Energy Extension Service’s “Energy Ideas
Clearinghouse” where he managed a “Think Tank” of energy experts and
engineers that responded to industry challenges and solutions.
Curtis made his professional mark during his tenure with the U.S.
Department of Energy where he was instrumental in the success of the
following programs: Million Solar Roofs, Wind Powering America and
Geo-Powering the West. Upon moving to the Golden Field office in 2006, he
made a concerted effort to study and explore Wave Energy from Tidal
Currents.
Also known as, “The Preacher” to co-workers Curtis was an inspiration to
