After a 15-year battle with Alzheimer’s, Annette Berteau Dupre is finally at peace. She fought this condition hard for her family; husband Chris Dupre, and her wonderful children Zachary, Courtney, and Stephen. Annette was one of those special people who was always smiling, happy, and very much a people person. She enjoyed family and friends, and through her vibrant personality always made others smile and feel good about themselves. Annette and Chris owned and operated several pharmacies, presently Dupre Pharmacy. Together they also operated M&B Shoe Store. Incredibly, even after working all day together, she still loved, and even still liked Chris. She enjoyed vacation; very little made her happier than smiling and laughing with her kids at Disney. Annette loved to sing, attend plays and concerts, and was an avid movie buff. She enjoyed painting and making wreaths, and many babies were gifted her crocheted blankets. To her close friends and family, she was Netsie Pie my Ole Sweet Love.
She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Berteau and her brother David Berteau. She is survived by her mother Faye Marchand Berteau, brother Jeff Berteau, and sisters Suzanne Berteau and Charla Berteau-Hall, along with numerous nephews and nieces who loved their favorite Aunt Nette.
Services for Annette will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, La. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM. She will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales, La. The family would like to thank the staff at The Parc Senior Living and St. Joseph Hospice.
