Audrey Delatte Scivicque went to be with her loved ones on July 4, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born and raised in Whitehall, La. She lived in Head of Island, La with her beloved husband and two children. Audrey owned and operated Val’s Marina for over 50 years. She worked tirelessly over the years, watching numerous generations walk through her doors, cultivating many friendships along the way. Cooking was her love language and when she was not frying her famous shrimp and fish at Val’s, she was cooking for her family. This included making her favorite childhood breakfast food, Galets, for anyone who wanted to join her on her early Sunday mornings at the restaurant. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Norris Scivicque; her children, Carol Ann Bell Buyas and Merlin “Joe Joe” Bell; son-in-law, Don Buyas; her sisters, Serena Hoover, Belva Bartholomae, and Anna Pennison; her parents, James and Lillie Delatte. Audrey is survived by her grandchildren, Brett Bell (Nicole), Amber Gaudin (Mark) and Jodie Bell; great-grandchildren, Brandon Bell (Stevie), Bhrooke Herring (Caleb), Kylee Guitreau and Landon Delatte (Cayla); great-great grandchildren, Vincent Herring, Teegan Bell, Charlotte Herring, Kason Bell and Fisher Herring; daughter-in-law, Debra Bell; brothers, Gilbert Delatte, Edward Delatte and Wilbert Delatte and Numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Audrey will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 9 am until Funeral Service at 11:30 am at St. Stephen Catholic Church 22502 LA-22, Maurepas, LA. She will be laid to rest in Whitehall Cemetery 22256 LA-22, Maurepas, LA. Pallbearers will be James Bell, Troy Leader, Travis Vernon, Bubba LeBourgeois, Jeffrey Poche, RJ Womack, Steven Tureau, Cedric “Ce-Bo” Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gilbert Delatte, Wilbert Delatte and Edward Delatte. Special thanks and gratitude to Woodleigh of Baton Rouge Nursing Home and Hospice of Baton Rouge.
