

Bernard Chantel Bourgeois passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the age of 91. A beloved father, husband, veteran, and faithful Catholic, he was a resident of St. Amant, LA. He served as Airman 1st Class in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Gulf States Utilities (Entergy) in 1986 after 30 years of service as a supervisor in the survey engineering department.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Leona Ann Babin Bourgeois; daughter, Gail Bourgeois, son, Blake Bourgeois, parents, Noel and Celanie Bourgeois, sister, Rosemary Roberts; brothers, Clyde Bourgeois, Remi Bourgeois, and Allard Bourgeois and seven infant siblings.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lisa Bourgeois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and E.J. Hidalgo and Kit and Rick Janis; daughter-in-law, Frances Lambert; ten grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Iris Lambert and Gloria James. He was a former member of Allons Parler Cadien French Class, Knights of Columbus, and served as an usher at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a fan of country music and enjoyed woodworking. He was known by his family and friends for his quick wit and great sense of humor and comical poems.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Holy Rosary in St. Amant Louisiana on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 9:30-11:30AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery.
