Beth Becnel Lee

Beth “Boo” Becnel Lee was born on May 12, 1972, in Lutcher, Louisiana. She went home to be with the Lord after a 4 year battle with cancer on May 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was called to serve as a catholic educator for many of us at St. Theresa of Avila Middle School in Gonzales. Through her faith and example, she taught us all to go with love in this world. To define her is to speak of her faith. Beth was a devout Catholic, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and soon to be grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Francis Lee, her children Connor Daniel Sinanan, Cade Michael Sinanan (and spouse Kaylin Sinanan), Gracie Sinanan Wyble (and spouse Seth Wyble), siblings Joe Becnel, Josh Becnel, Monique Becnel, and parents Michael Becnel and Deborah Becnel. She was preceded in death by her daughter Rani Sinanan.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Visitation will continue on May 20, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at St. George Church in Baton Rouge. A mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m.
