

Carolyn Picou Giacone a resident of French Settlement, La passed away on Friday October 1, 2021 at the age of 82 years. She was an educator for thirty years. Spending 23 years at French Settlement High School. She was a member of various organizations; the French Settlement Historical Society, St. Joseph K.C’s as Bingo Caller, St. Joseph Rosary Group, St. Joseph Bereavement Committee and Livingston Volunteers for Family and Community (LVFC). She was also a member of the Louisiana, the Livingston Parish and Ascension Parish retired Teachers Association. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She took great pride in her yard with its many flowers. Carolyn is survived by 3 children, Faith Picou Broussard (Harold), R. “Andy” Picou (Lisa) and Michael Picou; 8 grandchildren, Tiffany Blount (John), David Ellis (Cathy), Shain Picou (Amanda), Amy Duhon (Jacob), Race Picou, Makenzie Picou, Mallarie Picou and Isabella Hernandez; 13 great and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Amy Schexnaider Matherne; grandson, Jeremy Glen Ellis; and her grandparents. Visitation will be on October 9, 2021 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Joseph Rosary Group or plant a tree, schrub or flower to replace all those being removed from this earth. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home.
