Cecil Ray Joiner, a Kentucky native and Louisiana resident, was born on May 5, 1937. He left this earth on December 19, 2022 at the age of 85, with family by his side, to join his beloved wife Mary Joiner in Heaven. He moved to Louisiana in 1977 where he worked as an operator at Nalco Chemical, where he stayed until his retirement after 33 years. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. He was patient, he was kind, and he loved to tease. In every stage of his life, his personality shone through and was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and "Pepaw". He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jabe and Ruby Lee Mathis Joiner; brothers, Garner Joiner, Walton Joiner, and Henry Joiner; and his sisters Minnie Frances Moore, Betty Lou Hancock, Rosa Lee Marques, Jean Mull, and Joyce Baldwin. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Lowry (Robert); son, Brian Joiner (Jennifer); two granddaughters, Melanie Niewinski (Zach) and Lauren Billingsley (Tyler); and his four great-grandchildren Aurora Niewinski, Prudence Niewinski, Gage Billingsley, and Liv Billingsley. Family and friends are invited to a visitation and celebration of life at Ourso Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 9 am to 11 am. Cecil will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Flat Lick Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Joiner family.
