

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he lost his eight year battle with cancer on Monday, November 14, 2011, peacefully at home. He was well loved by his family and everyone who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by all. Chuck, 50, was born in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Prairieville. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Penny Free Ringe; daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Salpietra and husband Chris; son, Matthew Charles Ringe; two grandchildren, Noah Anthony Salpietra and Stella Michelle Salpietra; mother-in-law, Louise Free; stepmother, Gay Irwin Ringe; three sisters, Melanie Day and husband Donald, Tina Mathews and husband Leonard, and Jennifer Smith; five brothers, John Ringe Jr. and wife Kathy, David Ringe and wife Sherry, Michael Ringe and wife Oma, Patrick Ringe and wife Dawn, and Jeff Ringe and wife Laura; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, John Ringe Sr. and Peggy Altazin Ringe. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 5 pm to 8 pm, with rosary at 7 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 9 am until service at 11 am. Private burial will take place at a later date. He was a HomeCare (Home 360) franchise owner for 8 years before retiring in 2007. Before then, he was a manager at Bet-R Store for more than 20 years.
