

A native of Sunset and a resident of Prairieville, he died on January 12, 2012 at the age of 87. He was an Army veteran, who served during WWII, and a retired school bus driver for St. Landry Parish Schools. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Denny Dufour; three grandchildren, Casey Dufour and wife Stacy, Chrissie Dufour Belle and husband Matthew, and Cody Dufour; and three great grandchildren, Addisyn Belle, Casey Scott Dufour, and Alexis Belle. Preceded in death by his wife, Rita Lagrange Smith; parents, Esmond Joseph and Alice Savoie Smith; and son, Louis Marion Smith. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 from 8 am until funeral service at 10 am, with Pastor Galen Sorey officiating. A graveside service will be held at St. Charles Cemetery, Grand Coteau at 1 pm. Pallbearers will be Casey Dufour, Cody Dufour, Matthew Belle, Joey Booth, Rick Mitchell, Buddy Amoroso, Joey Williams, and Baron Tregle.
