Chris Rice passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the age of 69. He was a native of Amarillo, Texas and a longtime resident of St. Amant, Louisiana. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife, Lynn H. Rice; his children, Cheryl Moreau, Tyler Rice and Brady Rice and his grandchildren, Ava Rice, Gideon Moreau, Isa Moreau and Jersey Hoover. He is also survived by his sister Linda Naas and brother-in-law David Naas and numerous family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Sharon and Robert Rice.
Chris was a man of faith and family. He was a hard worker, always making sure his family was provided for. He enjoyed the simple life; often found cutting the grass, tending to his bees or tinkering with some type of mechanical issue. He truly loved spending time with his family and especially his dogs. His warm smile and kind soul will be missed dearly by all of those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA-429 St. Amant, La 70774, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The visitation will begin at 9AM with Mass starting at 11AM. Those serving as Pallbearers are Curtis Hoover Jr., Greg Fontenot Sr., Steven Tureau, Ricky Bonneval, Jeffrey Naas, Cameron Naas and Honorary Pallbearer, Ralph Tureau.
