Clinton Joseph "Bill" Rouyea Jr., passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 81. He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1963 – 1969. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Rosary Church where he served on the accounting committee for many years. He loved and looked forward to the Good Friday walk every year. He was an accountant/auditor who usually held down 2-3 jobs at a time. He worked for The Governor’s Mansion, St. James School Board, Atchafalaya Basin Levee Board, Lafourche Levee Board, Pontchartrain Levee Board, and the Legislative Auditors Office. His favorite hobby was competing in archery events, collecting bows, and making his own arrows. You could always find him outside shooting target practice or sitting on the back porch smoking his tobacco pipe and reading his newspaper. He loved to travel and would often hook up his fifth wheel or jump in his conversion van any chance he got. He was a man who never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone and meet new people. He was a phone call that started with “hello” in an accent only he could do, followed by introducing himself as the name you called him, and always ended with “adios.” He was a one-of-a-kind belly laugh that would often be the true punch line to his goofy pranks and jokes. He was a slam of the back door, followed by the words “Honey I’m home.” He was the short love letters to his wife on post-it notes throughout the house. He isn’t gone though. He is the smell of coffee in the morning, the old western movie as you are flipping channels, and the laugh you hear. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Blanchard Rouyea; and four children, Clinton Rouyea III (Barbara); Paul Rouyea (M’Leigh); Rhonda Mumphrey (Kerry); Cassondra Johnson (Jay); and sisters Alice Faye Moran; Alana Allen (David); brother, George Rouyea (Faye); his grandchildren, Jorden Mumphrey (Brittnee), Justen Mumphrey (Brittany), Austin Rouyea, Jadyn Mumphrey Braud (Jesse), Emily Rouyea Baut (Evan), Brooke Rouyea, Grace Tramonte, Preston Tramonte, Jaydin Johnson, Jase Johnson. He has ten great grandchildren; Dylan, Emmalynn, Remington, Magnolia, Cooper, Cohen, Everleigh, Mali, Ella and Holt. Many, many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara Rouyea and Clinton Rouyea, Sr. Pallbearers are Jay Moran, Austin Rouyea, Jorden Mumphrey, Justen Mumphrey, Jesse Braud, Evan Baut and Preston Tramonte.
