

A lifetime resident of Gonzales, he passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was 55 years old and a heavy equipment operator for Kinder Morgan and a former operator for Borden Chemical. An avid fisherman and hunter, he loved spending time at the camp at Lake Bruin, especially with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Bourque Lavigne; mother, Elverta Lavigne Cook; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Mire and Ron Jon Parr; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Christy Ivy Mire and Robbie and Stacey Daze Lavigne; three brothers; Carl Lavigne and wife Lorraine, Kent Lavigne, and Keith Lavigne and wife Lisa; and seven grandchildren, Bailey and Rhett Mire, Marley, Reed, and Maddie Parr, and Isabel and Cooper Lavigne. Preceded in death by his father, Welmon J. “Dickie” Lavigne. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Thurs., March 29 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Fri., March 30 from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Sam Sammartino. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Ricky Moran, Don Meche, Jerry Moran, Kevin Moran, Chris Dedon, Mike Falcon, Daniel LeBourgeois, and Beau Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Reed Parr and Rhett Mire.
