Daisy Arcement Delaune

A native of Union and longtime resident of St. Amant, Daisy Arcement Delaune passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 18, 2018. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and running the family businesses. She was 83. She is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn Bercegeay and husband Rodney, Judy LaPorte and Brent Moran; three sons, Terry Delaune and Terri Babineaux, Barry Delaune and wife Rhonda, and Dean Delaune and wife Lisa; brother, Rudy Arcement; sister, Virgie Driskill and husband Brent; thirteen grandchildren, Rodd Bercegeay, Chad Delaune, Clint Bercegeay, Dusty Delaune, Julee LaPorte, TerriLynn Guidry, BJ Delaune, Kadee Dupuis, Joelle Patty, Kolton Delaune, Ashley Delaune, Brooke Delaune, and Renee Delaune; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Layton, Kazely, Rylan, Collin, Calla, Beck, James, Kerry Rae, Armand, Gabi, Will, Iris, Kendal, and Ophelia. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Joseph Roy Delaune; son, Kerry Joseph Delaune; parents, Ferdinand “Shawee” and Jeanne Arcement; and sister, Ethel “T-Mae” Clouatre. A public visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 23, from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire extended Delaune family, The Hospice of Baton Rouge, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Palliative Care team, Dr. Fraiche, Dwayne Labatut, Dr. Yadlapati, and her angel caretakers, Sandy and Tammy.
