Daniel Wayne Shaffer

A resident of Zachary, he passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at the age of 40. Daniel enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, invaluable sense of humor and, of course, his infamous cooking. He is survived by his fianceé, Syble Rowe; daughter, Jade Shaffer and fiancé Ryan Smith; son, Daniel Parker; granddaughter, Kynlee Smith; mother and stepfather, Janice Ducote Parker and John M. Parker; maternal grandmother, Genevieve Ducote; sister and brother-in-law, Amy Talley Moss and Allen Taylor; brothers, Jack M. Shaffer and wife, Teri, Dirk P. Shaffer; nephews, Nick Germany, Jack Shaffer Jr., Michael Patton, Dylan MCallister; nieces, Alexandrine Achee, Alysha Shaffer, Amber Howell, Taylor Talley, Victoria Shaffer; and numerous other loving great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ramey L. Shaffer Jr. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home, Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted to help with funeral arrangements.
