Denise Sullivan Vernon

She has gone to her heavenly home to rejoin those that have gone before her, daughter Jennifer Vernon Pittman, parents Juanita Lunn & Lloyd “Rusty” Sullivan and siblings: Jerry, Charles and Ellen Sullivan.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband John L. Vernon II, daughter Julie Vernon Hughes, son-in-law Sean Pittman, grandchildren: Grace Hughes, Jenna Pittman, Cody Pittman, Grant Menard and Garrett Keller and her great-grandchild Julia Menard.

Denise was a retired nurse; she spent over 35 years in the NICU. She always believed that every baby she was able to care for was a miracle. She had a special spot in her heart for her precious animals: Jasper, Jasmine, Mila and Lucy, who will surely miss her cuddles. Denise loved to spend time with family and friends. She would often open her doors and her heart to anybody who wanted to join in on holidays and gatherings. She enjoyed reading, tending to her plants and “rattling the pots” in the kitchen. Denise had a heart of gold and would help anybody in need; her kind soul and warm smile will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Denise’s Life on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737.
