

A resident of Prairieville and native of Baton Rouge, he passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016. He was 68 and a retired electrician. He earned his Electrical Certification at Baton Rouge Technical College. He loved hunting, fishing, raising and showing miniature horses, but most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Hebert Burns; son, Jason Burns, Sr. of Prairieville; brother, Wallace Burns of San Carlos, Mexico; and his grandson, Jason "Jace" Burns, Jr. of Prairieville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Rena Evans Burns; brother, Jimmy Lee Burns; and a niece, Tammie Burns. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 5 pm to 9 pm. The visitation will resume on Wednesday from 9 am until funeral services at 11 am. Burial will follow in Carpenter's Chapel Cemetery, Prairieville.
