

Drusilla Marie Boudreaux “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” Psalm 46:5. Drusilla or “Mama Dru”, as many called her, was a loving mother, an amazing friend, and a true inspiration to anyone she met. A longtime resident of Prairieville, and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, she was born on January 18, 1953, in Rayne, Louisiana and passed on to walk in Heaven at the age of 70, on July 30, 2023. Known for her strength and incredible perspective on life, she brought light and joy everywhere she went. She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Mapes and wife, Rhayssa of Baton Rouge and Donavan Mapes of Prairieville, LA; two grandchildren, Laura Marie and Marcus Mapes; three sisters, Eldine Boudreaux, Linda Morgan and husband, Jimmy, and Glenda Boudreaux, all of Baton Rouge, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lula Savoy Boudreaux; five brothers, Jack Lester Boudreaux, Hendrick Adam Boudreaux, Joseph Glenn Boudreaux, Floyd Moise Boudreaux, and Carl Anthony Boudreaux; and two sisters, Theresa Bertina Brady and Loretta Ann Jagneaux. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 5, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA. The family will receive visitors at Ourso Funeral Home on Friday, August 4th, from 4-8 pm. Visitation will resume Saturday at 12:00 pm until the time of services. Burial and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please spend some quality time with your family and friends. Donations in her name may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
