Edward Braud III, a lifelong resident of Gonzales Louisiana died Monday, June 6, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Edward, known to most as Ed, was born on March 23, 1935, to Edward Braud Jr. and Virginia Braud. Ed enjoyed special times spent with his wife Audrey of 68 years, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. His special interest was hunting, fishing, outdoor cooking in his black iron pots and duck carving. He will be remembered as the fourth World Champion Jambalaya Cook of 1971. Ed retired in 1992 after 27 years from Shell Chemical Co. as a Senior Inspector. One of his many accomplishments that he was most proud of, was the authoring and publishing of his book, "Black Iron and Cajun Spice, (a Dutch Oven How-to Manual). Ed was a participant of life and was involved in many organizations. Ed often quoted Emerson with these words: "The reward for a thing well done is to have done it," and Ed …..did a lot. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ed is survived by his loving wife, which he adored, Audrey G. Braud, Daughters Charmane B Derousselle (George), Jane B. Barbour, Karen B. Savoy (Jerry), Jackie B. Webre (Rick) and son Troy Braud (Jenise). Grandchildren: Nicole D. Canulette, Ashlie S. Dedon, Brady Barbour, Hacie S. Neal, Jared Braud, Jake Savoy, Kari B Wright, Jordyn W. Farizo, Wyatt Webre, and 16 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Doris B. LeBlanc, Wilbert P. Braud, Evelyn B. Logan, Nolan J, Braud (Janice), and numerous loved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Jake Savoy, Jared Braud, Wyatt Webre, Russ Bourgeois, Ty Dedon, Pat LeBlanc. Honorary Pallbearers: Glen Gautreau and Daniel Logan. He is preceded in death by his parents Ed Braud Jr. and Virgina G. Braud, sisters, Viola B. Phillippe, Shirley B. LeBlanc, infant siblings Ruth and Ernest, grandson Robby Derouselle, great grandson Justin L. Marchand Jr and son-in-law Eugene (Chip) Barbour. Visitations will be at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 Hwy 429, Saint Amant, Louisiana on June 8, 2022, from 1:30 pm with Mass of Christian burial at 4:30 pm, followed by burial service at St. John Catholic Church Cemetery in Prairieville, LA.
