

MSGT Edward Arthur Shank, 83, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on April 2, 2025. Born and raised in Kittanning, Ed led a life marked by dedication, versatility, and a strong sense of adventure. He proudly served as an Aircraft Mechanic in the U.S. Air Force, where his technical skills and work ethic were unparalleled. Throughout his career, Ed embraced a variety of occupations, including working as a commercial shrimper and oysterman, asbestos monitor, online car sales associate, and reserve police officer.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Ed had a vibrant personal life. He enjoyed bowling, playing poker, vacationing, and watching wrestling—often accompanied by a few orange slices. But above all, he cherished time spent with his beloved family. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he shared his love, wisdom, and unforgettable memories.
Ed’s legacy is one of hard work, kindness, and a deep love for those he held dear. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Clements Shank; his children, Trinel Kerry (Matthew), Edward A. Shank Jr. (Michelle), Cheri Welch (James), Rodney Perez, Dane Perez, Kenneth Perez, Charlene Perez, Troy Perez; grandchildren, Brandy Dufrene, Brandi Authement, Blake Authement, Destiny Authement, Caitlyn Authement, Daniel Authement, Savannah Authement, Mathew Authement, Alexis Shank, Josh Shank, Mandi Curiel, William Reed, Stephen Reed, Christina LaRocca, Keri Ann Landry, Cherie Perez, Amy Loupe and Tailer Perez; 26 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents, Arthur Valgene Shank and Ethel Hooks Shank and grandson, John Authement.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Edward’s Life on Friday, April 11, 2025 starting at 10:00AM with a service to follow at 12:00PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA 70737.
