

Elma was a native and resident of Gonzales and passed away on July 9, 2015 at The Carpenter House. As a self-employed seamstress, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. She is survived by a daughter Jan Yates; 2 sons, Carl Bourque, Daniel Bourque; 9 grandchildren, Danny Bourque, Johnny Bourque, Alex Bourque, Jimmy Bourque, and Sandy Flores all of Virginia, Clint Bourque of California, Clay Bourque , Camie Moore, Rachel Yates all of Prairieville; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by husband, Matson “Dick” Bourque; parents, Adlar and Lutitia Arceneaux Braud; half-sister Wilma Braud Levingston; 3 brothers Windom “Lu Lu” Braud, Wilton “Big Boy” Braud, and an infant brother; great granddaughter Madelyn Moore. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday July 12, 2015 from 5:30pm until 8:00pm and resume at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales Monday, July 13, 2015 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, officiated by Rev. Eric Gyan. Interment to follow at Cornerview Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Clint, Clay, Chase, Ethan, Johnny, Danny, Alex, and Jimmy Bourque.
