A native of Gloster, MS and resident of St. Amant, she passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the age of 74. She always gave to others, enjoyed spending time with her family, and was everyone’s “mother,” including the many children that she fostered throughout the years. She is survived by one daughter, Tonya Babin; five sons and one daughter-in-law, Lyn and Mandie Butler, John Davis, Michael Davis, Kerry Filer, and Timmy Filer; one sister, Marie Everette; five grandchildren, Caze Duplessis, Dustin Butler, Natalie Babin, Duncan Filer, and Kara Filer; as well as many foster children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Butler; six brothers, and two sisters. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
