Mrs. Elsie Mae Frederic

A native of Gonzales and a longtime resident of St. Amant, Elsie was born Dec. 27, 1929, and died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Sunday, Feb. 14, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Monday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum. She is survived by her children, Gloria Guedry and husband Lamar "Tut" Guedry, Ronnie Frederic and wife Adele B. Frederic, Kenny Frederic and wife Jessica L. Frederic, and Anna Brignac and husband Danny Brignac; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Frederic; 17 grandchildren, Brent and Jodie Guedry, Renee Jones, Tara Dearing, Stephen, Kayla, Kenny, Nick and Chad Frederic, Kim Dupin, Gerald Jr., Jeffrey, Stan and Randy Frederic, Shane Holdridge, Brandi and Layne Brignac; 26 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sister, Joyce Frederic; brothers, George and wife Sheron Babin, and Lionel "Boogie" and wife Betty Babin; sister-in-law, Theresa Babin; brother-in-law, Louis Templet; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Stanley Frederic; son, Gerald Frederic Sr.; parents, George Sr. and Bertha Parent Babin; sister, Vernell Templet; brothers, Fritz Babin, and Louis Babin and wife Beverly; and brother-in-law, Adam "Feetie" Frederic. Her grandsons will be the pallbearers. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3693. She also attended the Council on Aging for two years.
