Emile Joseph Chauvin, Jr., 81, of Union, Louisiana, born December 21, 1942, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on May 6, 2024, at St. Claire Manor Rehab in Baton Rouge, surrounded by his loving family and the caring staff. Emile bravely battled health issues, demonstrating resilience and strength until the end. Emile proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Veteran and contributed his skills as a Certified Electrician with Local 130 out of Metairie, working across the United States. His dedication and expertise left a lasting impact in the communities he served. He is survived by his son, Todd Michael, and daughter-in-law Karen of Woodstock, Georgia, and his granddaughter, Emily Hope. Emile is also survived by his sisters Judy Chauvin Hebert and husband Dave, and Brenda Chauvin Roshto and husband Bryan, all of Baton Rouge, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Emile was preceded in death by his parents, Emile Joseph, Sr., and Lucille Bergeron Chauvin, his brother Ray, and sisters Linda C. Guercio and Mary Susan C. LaCroix. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Claire Manor Rehab, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, and Baton Rouge General Hospital for their compassionate care and support. A celebration of Emile's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to begin visiting at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a foundation of your choice or an animal rescue center, reflecting Emile's compassionate spirit and love for animals.
