Florence Mrs. Toonie Mae Millet Porta

A native of Garyville and a resident of Gonzales, she passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at age 87. Florence was a former longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and The Brittany Biddies. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, April 22, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Saturday, April 23, from 8:30 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Amant. Survived by two sons, Loyson Porta, and Colin Porta and spouse Rhonda; two daughters, Sherrilyn Bourgeois and spouse Gerald, and Tanya Krause and spouse Glenn; three brothers, Arthur, Bobby and Leonce "Pick" Millet Jr.; four sisters, Audrey St. Pierre and spouse Allen, Lavonne Brady, Ferrell Ann Stockton, and Eunice Melancon and spouse Gerald; nine grandchildren, Jamie Meades, Kylie Wheat, Jarred Ryan, Kasey Bourgeois, Benjamin, Tobey and Jake Porta, Chelsea and Chase Krause; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Caroline Meades, Kagan and Kullen Wheat, Gage, Braeden, and Braxton Bourgeois, Bella and Madi Porta, Kassidee and Koree Ryan. Preceded in death by husband, Edward Porta; parents, Emeline and Leonce Millet; daughter, Coleen Ryan; granddaughter, Alexis Porta; three sisters, Louise Pellissier, Helen Brady and Doris Vicknair; and brother, J.C.
