Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage.” -Psalm 23 Floyd Joseph Brignac, passed away at the age of 74 on Wednesday, December 13th 2023. He was born on March 23rd, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Mayers Brignac; his son, Jay Brignac (Allison); two daughters, Kellie Brignac Duplechein (Scott) and Aimee Brignac Martin (Tim); granddaughters, Alli Duplechein Clark (Chase), Maggie Duplechein Gonzales (Brock), Gracie Duplechein and Chloe Brignac; his grandsons (triplets), Avery White, Boyce White and Connor White; great grandson, Rhett Gonzales; his brothers, Larry Brignac (Julie), twin, Lloyd Brignac (Louise), and Thomas Brignac (Cindy); and his sister, Cathy Brignac. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Alcide Brignac and Leila Gaudin Brignac; brother, JP Brignac of Gonzales; mother and father- in-law, Lucille Savoy Becnel and Ray Becnel; and sister-in-law, Susan Mayers. He served in the United States Army for 3 years and was in the Vietnam War. He worked for Winn-Dixie for 30 years and Ascension Parish School Board for 10 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of 52 years. Services will be held on Monday, December 18th at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, visitation from 10-12 with a Holy Mass to follow. Pallbearers will be Matt Lambert, Todd Brignac, Scott Brignac, Joe Brignac, Tyler Brignac and Ory Bercegeay. Honorary Pallbearers are Jason Brignac, Jeffrey Brignac and Jamie Brignac. He was a fan of LSU Football, in which his son and daughter graduated from the university.
