Harold E. Morel Sr.

Harold Edward Morel Sr. passed away at his home on Monday, November 25, 2024 at the age of 88. He was a loving Husband, Dad, Grampy and friend to many. He has now rejoined his late wife Judy Weatherholt Morel in their heavenly home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children Cynthia Fontaine (Martin), Michele Nichols (Keith), Harold Morel Jr., and Leonard Morel (Norma); his grandchildren Madison Nichols Skeete, Miranda Nichols Bergeron, Mallorie Nichols Conner, Marissa Nichols, Meghan Morel and Hannah Morel, and his great-grandbaby Emme Michele Skeete. He was also preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Marie Guillbeau. Harold was a member of the Navy Reserves for 8 years. Throughout his life Harold always had a passion for his faith and his family. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Gonzales, where he could often be found helping in the kitchen. Harold truly delighted in being able to help others in any way he could. He also liked to donate his time at The Fellowship Center, a thrift store in Gonzales. He also enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as a good fishing trip or just being outdoors embracing the day. But his time spent with his family was something he held near and dear to his heart. Those smiles and shared moments will live on in his memory. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Gonzales, 1217 S Burnside Ave. Gonzales, LA 70737, the visitation will begin at 9AM. A burial will follow at Lusk Cemetery in Gonzales. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Keith Nichols, Cliff Johnson, Harold Morel Jr., Leonard Morel, Ben Bergeron and Martin Fontaine.
