Harry was born on June 20, 1951, in Gonaïves, Haiti, to the late Paule-Marie and Pollux Legros. He spent his early years growing up in Gonaïves, where his childhood was marked by a strong pursuit of knowledge and a deep commitment to family and friends.
During his teenage years, he took great pride in representing the city of Gonaïves through his competitive participation in soccer and volleyball. These experiences helped shape his discipline and fostered a lifelong appreciation for teamwork and perseverance.
Guided by his passion for science and his desire to serve others, Harry pursued medical studies in Puebla, Mexico, where he earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. His professional journey later led him to New York, where he devoted many years practicing respiratory health care with dedication and compassion.
Harry eventually retired to Florida, where he embraced a slower pace of life, exchanging the northern winters for warmth and sunshine.
He will be remembered for his quiet yet distinctive charm and for living life unapologetically as himself. He faithfully dedicated Sundays to attending Mass, reflecting the spiritual devotion that guided his life.
He is survived by his four children: Jimena-Juliette (Jose Martinez), Christina (Kirk Robertson), Jonathan (John Vansteen), and Naila (Ryan Salay). He was a proud and loving grandfather to seven grandchildren: Maria Jose, Kirk III, Emilio, Nicholas, Celina, Blaise, and Jonas.
