Helen King Parent

Helen King Parent, native of South Hampton, NY and resident of St. Amant, LA passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the age of 80. Helen’s family was very important to her. She loved children and babysat for many. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and was a member of a bowling league. She will be missed dearly by all who loved her. Helen is survived by her daughter, Amy Parent Miller and spouse Michael C. Miller; son, Todd Parent and spouse Paula Parent; grandchildren, Chance Parent, Erika Hicks, Collin Parent, Bailey Parent and Holden Parent; great-grandchildren, Jacob Parent, Braxton Hicks, Saige Stevens, Payton Parent, Ezra Hicks; brothers, Roy King and spouse Carol, Walter King and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Martin M. Parent, Sr; son, Martin “Marty” Parent, Jr.; parents, George King, Sr. and Virginia King and brothers, George King, Jr., Robert King, Sr. and Al King. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM continuing Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 8:30AM until 10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Lake Cemetery.
