A resident of Gonzales, founder and former owner of Diez Tire and Supply, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2013 at his home. He was 84 and a decorated Korean War Veteran. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Gonzales on Tuesday from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial to follow in Cornerview Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Blanca Borras Diez; his first wife and mother to their five children, Betty Purpera Vavasseur; children, Douglas A. Diez, Kim S. Diez, Rebecca Ann LaPlace, Tara Elizabeth Diez, and Rhett Joseph Diez; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Bradley Diez.
