I remember when Hunter and I tried dating in 9th grade of high school and realized we were better off friends haha. We had this love/hate friendship, but I could never stay mad at him. He loved picking on me and then would ask if I need a ride home from school haha. He just knew how to brighten someones day. His heart was so pure.  He would do anything for you. I will miss you so much Hunter. I think I will miss that laugh the most.  Until we meet again

"Today is the 28th day without you Hunter and this is not any easier.... Not a day goes by where I don't think of you...." 

I met Hunter long ago at Peaches but didn’t actually become friends until about a year ago when I was absolutely broken... We only talked for a few minutes when he would come to my table but during those short minutes my heart did not ache... his energy and laughter were so contagious… during those short minutes I would forget about my pain… during those short minutes my day became just a little brighter… He would tell me about his plans for this exciting life of his. Hunter was a true angel that came into people's lives to lift them, help them get through whatever was going on at the time. He gave so much without asking for anything back. He did that for me. He healed me! Hunter and I became close friends and I was so very fortunate to have him in my life!! I got to know this absolutely amazing man, so loving, so passionate, so happy, so sweet, with high moral values... he gave 100% of himself 100% of the time!!! He was so full of life with big plans for an awesome future! If you met him, you will never forget him! Life will never be the same without him!

Hunter was the sweetest, most genuine person I’ve ever met. The first night I met him we talked for hours, it was like I had known him for my whole life. The way he could make you feel so comfortable, like you could talk to him about anything. He’s going to be missed so much. 

The days will never be the same or shine as bright without you here. I am so thankful that I got the chance to know you. From seeing you in the halls at dutchtown to you coming see me and Rocky every weekend for a whole year. We picked and fought like siblings and I will forever cherish every little memory, the laughs and jokes we made. You knew how to bring out the best in people and I never felt like I couldn’t be myself around you. The heart to heart we had in Daytona and how I thanked you for making my family feel special and happy. I’m so grateful we got to spend those moments together. I will miss your weekly phone calls and FaceTimes. I will miss asking you for workout tips. I will miss my hype man. I will miss us laughing together at stupid things. I will miss your super tight hugs. I will miss you. Love you Hunter Blake Burns. 

I remember the exact moment I met Hunter. He was sitting at table 5, position 2, at Peachs doing some hiring paperwork. He saw me, shook my hand, and introduced himself.  For the next few months Hunter and I got to know each other at work. We discussed New Orleans because my sister lives there and he was from Louisiana, we discussed Bayside because that’s where we both went to church, and we discussed working out because I was interested in starting a routine. We even talked about my kids and how much he couldn’t wait to have his own. Throughout the time I knew Hunter, I always saw him lending a hand. If someone needed help with their car, he’d stay all day trying to fix it. If someone needed help moving, guess who was there to lift all the heavy furniture? If you needed an ear to listen to your problems guess who was willing? Hunter was always eager to do more. To go above and beyond. To gain more knowledge. There will never be about hunter. 

Hunter is in heaven rejoicing with loved ones and dancing with our Heavenly Father. When we all get there, we will be greeted with his beautiful smile. What a reunion that will be..

To hunters family,
If you ever feel distant from hunter, I want you to look in the mirror. You all resemble hunter in your own way. When I met each and every one of you, I saw him. It was truly amazing. Look in the mirror, and you will see him too. Hunter is with you, always. If you ever start to feel down, I encourage you to read the book of Job. 

Job 1:20-22 “Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I’m so thankful and proud I can call this man my baby brother. From the time we were kids he’s always known how to make anyone laugh even at the saddest of times. If you were down he’d lift you up, if you were mad he’d talk you through it. I would call him at any second to vent and he’d be there with open ears. No matter the situation, he’d try to the best of his ability to work it out. He impacted so many lives and shared a special bond with each person. His go getter attitude paired with his hunger for more knowledge had him on a path to greatness. Hunter was a very special person, one of a kind no doubt. Hunter will forever be in our hearts. 

I’ll always remember all the great memories we share together. Thank you for all the good times we shared together. I love you brother. 

Most of our memories were going to Haley’s house and having fun being teenagers. I could call Hunter at midnight and tell him come to Haley’s and he’d come hangout no questions asked. When he got his first truck he insisted on driving us to the grocery store, so me him Haley and jace went grocery shopping. He was always smiling and having fun. Miss him a bunch.  

I met Hunter when he was two years old and he instantly became one of my favorite people in the world. We bonded immediately and he became my unofficial godchild. He was one of a kind and so very full of life. He had the kindest spirit and heart.....unless he thought you were cheating on a board game 😍 He was a champion for the underdog and had an innate sense of fairness. He will be forever remembered, loved, missed and quoted (he left us some funny ones) by me and my kids. We love you Hunter Marie Burns❤❤❤

I love you Hunter.....I remember when I first found out your Mom was pregnant for you. You were ALWAYS so upbeat and a super great young man.......thank you for being a wonderful blessing to the Burns crew and now a perfect Angel with your Grandma & Grandpa......

I SHIRLEY AND MY BEST FRIEND ANNIE HAVE LUNCH AT PEACHES EVERY TUESDAY.   THAT IS WHERE WE MET HUNTER.  HE ALWAYS BRIGHTENED OUR DAY AND HAD SMILES THAT LIT UP THE ROOM.  HE WAS FUNNY, CHARMING, CARING AND WE LOVED HIM.  OUR CHILDREN ARE NOT IN FLORIDA, BUT HUNTER FILLED A SPOT IN OUR HEARTS.  WE WILL MISS HIM FOREVER.  OUR LOVED AND PRAYERS FOR HIS FAMILY

Hunter was an awesome young man. I missed his smile when he left Peaches He will always have a special place in my heart.His family is in my prayers. 

Although I wasn’t able to  have known Hunter for a long period of time, it was immediately apparent that he stood out of the crowd. His generosity was unmatchable and I was blown away by his ambition, but Hunter’s most unforgettable trait is his contagious laugh. Brightening up any room seemed to come natural to him, there was never a dull moment in the presence of Hunter.  He would go out of his way to help anyone, without a second thought. Incredible is an understatement, the impacts Hunter made will never be forgotten.  Knowing you was truly a blessing.

Hunter was the most ambitious, kind and hardworking kid I knew. He was always trying to make himself a better person and he put everyone else first before him. He had such a great soul and a smile that could light up any room. I am so happy I got to meet someone like him and he will always be in my heart. The first day I met him he was valeting across the street from where I worked and that day there was an event going on and it started to pour. Cars were lined up and he was completely drenched running around in the rain parking everyone’s car. He had the biggest smile on his face and I will never forget that. He enjoyed the little things and I will forever miss him. My prayers go out to the burns family. 

I will always miss his bright contagious smile! He always made work nights the best! He was so sweet and caring, made sure all of his coworkers got home safe and sound! Even follow some of them home to make sure they got into their homes safe. He was the sweetest soul and I will never forget him! He will be in my heart forever. Love you Hunt ❤️

An old soul is not an old soul by virtue of age, but for their patience, self-measure and joyful gratitude. Hunter was an old soul and was wise beyond his years. He loved genuine kindness. He loved compassion. He loved poetry and we would read for hours. He loved connecting with souls. He loved deep conversations about life, God, and the future. He loved with depth and loved in the raw. He was childlike in many ways, having the playfulness and simplicity of children, while maintaining a certain world-weariness and deep insight. Children were his passion. He loved children and wanted to be around them all the time. We would go to the park and play for hours with my children. My little girls lit up every time he would say their names. Hunter made them feel cherished, adored, special and loved with his hugs and smiles. He was ready to be a dad and a husband. He wanted to open up a snow cone stand. So many dreams. 

Let me give up the need to know why things happen as they do. I will never know and constant wondering is constant suffering. 

What I do know is that scripture promises that the moment you leave this life you go to heaven. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The righteous man who dies “is taken away from evil, he enters into peace” - Isaiah 57. to live is Christ and to die is gain”- Philippians 1:21 
This was our last bible study together. 

Hunter, I miss you more then anyone will ever know. You were an angel in disguise. Life will not be the same with out you. 

My breath was taken away when I heard the news. I pray for your family during this unthinkable time. My husband Glen and I (along with our other kids) had the pleasure of meeting Hunter when he came by our home in October to help our daughter, Alyssa move into her new home. They say you can never make a second ‘first impression’. I can say Hunter made an incredible first impression. Quickly we knew he was an exceptional young man. He stepped up, moved into action to help and when we didn’t have the right materials he jumped in his vehicle to run to the store to buy a tarp and a few other things. I thought ‘what a great, helpful, kind, nice guy’. We had a wonderful dinner together after moving her in and he was pure joy. We were blessed to spend that one day with him. We enjoyed a great conversation and many laughs. He touched our lives!!! A true blessing!! Sending prayers of love, peace and comfort. Lisa

I had the pleasure of meeting Hunter when he started working at Peach’s with us.  Hunter was an amazing human being. If there is one thing he loved was children. And mine had the pleasure of getting a warm hug from him every time they saw him. His love for them was sincere and pure and I cannot thank him enough for being such a loving guy with them . My heart is broken, but it is also happy that Hunter Blake Burns was in my life and that I got to call him my friend.  My most sincere condolences to his parents and whole family. I am beyond blessed to have met hunter after visiting Sarasota for the first time and meeting my dad after 9 years of absence, hunter made me feel so special and loved, ever since we met about 2 years ago I began to fly monthly to see hunter and also build the old relationship with my father... hunter was such a family man , he always talked highly of his siblings and his parents! Which drew my attention immediately... hunter was all about god himself, hunter and I built a fun friendship I wouldn’t trade for the world! We loved to sing and dance in the car , have our sushi dates and talk about our successful futures opening a  snow cone cart in Florida , that was hunters dream ... he was all about dating a girl with good credit hahah! Such a wonderful guy! I will forever cherish all our lovely moments and my monthly flights to see him , he is one true gem! Hunter......although our hearts are breaking we know you’re at Peace and in the arms of our loving God.

We’re going to miss all the late night conversations on our couch, your beautiful smile, loving heart and witty sense of humor...... and cutting our grass because we fed you.  We were so honored to have shared lifetime memories with you, and loved you with all our hearts.  We know you’re in good hands and are smiling down on all of us.

Hunter you have always made your mom so proud.  Always the light of her life.  You were taken too soon but God needed you with him.  RIP sweetie and know you will be missed and loved forever 

Hunter was our server at Peaches Restaurant.  Such a sweet lovable guy always a smile was sad when he left for another job!  Very sad of his passing will be missed dearly!  Prayers for the family!  I attend Bayside!  😪😪

We knew Hunter when he worked at Peach’s. We were there the day he started and his last day there. Just a couple weeks ago I ran into Hunter at Peach’s as he was eating there. It really, really pains me to know he has passed. My wife told me and it literally took away my breath. 

Hunter was such a friendly, fun and like-able person.   I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile.  I cannot even begin to imagine the grief of his family. I will pray for your comfort and healing.
