Israel Moreno

Israel retired after 20+ years of service on the Gonzales City Police Department and served in the Army National Guard. He was an avid LSU sports fan and coached youth sports. Israel will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents Manuela “Mamie” Farias and Ponfilo Moreno, and Step-father, Enemencio “Shorty” Farias, Jr.

He is survived by his brother, Carlos Moreno (Brenda); sons, Jason and Adam Moreno; niece, Yvette Moreno, Nephews, Anthony (Rebecca) and Chaz Moreno.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 9:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. The burial will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery on Hwy 30 in Gonzales.
