

A loving daughter, sister, and aunt, Janey Antoinette Hooper passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the age of 33 years old. She was a native of St. Amant and a resident of Gonzales. Janey was a lab tech at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a graduate of Louisiana School of Math, Science, and Arts in Natchitoches. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia and a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Our Lady of the Lake College. Janey is survived by her loving parents, Loyd “Duke” Hooper and Ann Himel Hooper; two protective brothers and sister-in-laws, Lance and Callie Hooper and John and Virginia “Ginny” Hooper; three adoring nephews, Brennen Barrios, Layne, and Landon Hooper; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Mary Hooper and Howard and Eloise Himel; and uncle, Van Himel. Janey was a caring and compassionate person, who loved living, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She touched many lives during the time she was here. Janey will be greatly missed by all. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales.
