

Jerry Reynolds Truax, aged 81, of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Liberty, Texas, Jerry was a devoted homemaker who brought joy and warmth to the lives of all who knew her. Jerry was a woman of many passions and talents. She cherished the opportunity to explore new places and cultures, delighting in her travels near and far. A skilled gardener and culinary artist, Jerry found immense pleasure in cultivating beautiful gardens and preparing delicious meals and treats for her friends and family. Her creative flair extended to her talent for decorating, where she brought life and character to every space she touched. Above all, Jerry cherished her family. She found profound joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will endure through generations. Her kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness touched the hearts of all who knew her. Jerry is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Chambers Reynolds and Jamye Wiggins Reynolds; her brother, James Reynolds; sister, Janis Reynolds Day; and daughter-in-law, Jodi Conway Truax. She is survived by the love of her life, Donald Eugene Truax, and their children: Jamye (Troy) Truax Free, Dana (Jeff) Truax Hedrick, and Darren Truax. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Hayley (Randy) Free Bordes, Megan (Korey) Simpson, Jordan (Katelyn) Free, Zac (Jade) Hedrick, Dillon (Melanie) Truax, Jacee (Devin) Truax Speligene, Preslee Truax, and Reed Truax, as well as her great-grandchildren, McKenna Dixon, Rylan Bordes, Peyton Bordes, Bowen Bordes, and Cooper Free. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sandra Reynolds. A visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Graceworks Church, 16131 LA-44, Prairieville, Louisiana 70769, followed by a Celebration of Jerry's Life at 12:00 PM. A reception will be held at Graceworks Church Fellowship Hall following the service. The family ask that any flowers need to be sent directly to Graceworks Church and any food donations be delivered to the Graceworks Church Fellowship Hall. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to ICU nurse Mackenzie for her kindness and compassion during Jerry's time of need. Forever remembered, forever cherished, Jerry's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
