Joel Ray Davis

Joel R. Davis passed away on November 2, 2021 at the age of 62. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son. He was born on September 21, 1959 in Japan to Yoshiko Davis and the late Jodie Ray Davis. Joel proudly served his country in the US Marines Corps. He was a dedicated, hard worker and walked his mail route day in and day out for over 30 years. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed fishing, gaming, spending time with his family and eating all types of good food. Joel was the loving husband of Bernadine Davis for 29 years. Father of Michael Edelen, Danielle Mayeux (Drew), Jonathan Davis (Kelsey), Jessica Davis and the late Daniel Edelen. Pawpaw to Logan, Gabe, Caitlin, Bryn, Jeremiah, Aaliyah, Jude and the late Thomas. Brother of Bobby Davis (Jayna) and Carolyn Coley (Steve) and brother-in-law of Gary Templeton (Adriane), Bernadette Manuel (Elliot) and Jerry LeBlanc (Marilyn). Uncle of Jayme, Justine and Codi. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and family members. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 9am-1pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 1pm.
