

Johnny J. Leveron, a resident of St. Amant and native of Houma, he passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015, at The Carpenter House. He was 80, a retired Boilermaker, an avid fisherman and Brewer fan. He liked being in the yard, visiting and eating out. He celebrated his 62nd wedding anniversary on May 23rd. He was aware that his adoring wife, Merrill Poirrier Leveron had been sitting by his side and holding his hand for that day and for 62 years. In Acy, Louisiana, Johnny is survived by his wife, Merrill Poirrier Leveron; daughters, Janet Leveron and Denise Gautreaux, her husband, Jerry and their sons, Aaron and Adam; son, Felix Todd Leveron, his wife, Renie and their son, Felix Jacob; the children of his late son, Johnny Gale Leveron, Dawn Poche, her husband, Dirk, Derrick Leveron, his wife, Heather, Sarah Leveron, and Shelby Leveron; and seven great-grandchildren, Addyson, Dason, Bradley, Gavin, Sydney, Devyn, and Cooper. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Leveron of Houma; mother, Bertha Moore and stepfather, Sam; and a son, Johnny Gale Leveron. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Thursday at Community Bible Fellowship, Gonzales from 9 am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in New River Methodist Church Cemetery, St. Amant. Dad's favorite song was Shall We Gather at the River. It was only fitting that the last time he drove his truck he went to his favorite launch to as he put it, "check the water".
