Jorda Joseph Young Jr.

Funeral services for Jorda Young, Jr. will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017, 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Gonzales with visitation starting at 8:30 am and continuing until services begin at noon. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Mausoleum in Gonzales. Mr. Young passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He was 55 years old. Jorda was a beloved husband, son, father and grandfather. He worked for Westlake Chemical and was also well known as a gifted jack of all trades. In his younger years, Jorda enjoyed boxing. He also liked to ride horses and bulls, train horses, fish, hunt, sing and play music. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 36 years, Laurie LeBlanc Young; sons, Jorda Young, III and wife Rhagen, Tyson Young; daughter, Shelby Young; grandchildren, Jensen Young, Jorda Young, IV; mother, Barbara Sanchez Young; sister, Charae Kynett; brother, Chad Young and many sister/brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jorda Young, Sr.; grandparents, Hyson & Violet Young, Clarence and Bernice Sanchez; uncles, Charles Young, Curtis Young and in-laws, Julien & Catherine LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Jorda Young, III, Tyson Young, Brett Sanchez, Nolan Babin, Glynn Parent, Jr. and Casey Richardson. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, MD Anderson Hospital and the many members of the community who gave love and support during his journey.
