
A retired tankerman for Freeport Chemical with 27 years of service, he passed away at 7:46 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at his residence in Gonzales. He was 78 and a native of Leonville. Visitation at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Gary Belsome, celebrant. Entombment in Hope Haven, Gonzales. He is survived by two daughters, Elaine Douga, Ragley, and Donna Lambert, Gonzales; son, Wayne Lalonde, Sorrento, and companion and friend, Alice Parent; five sisters, Helen Artigue, Loretta Cortez, Betty Andrus, Virgie Aden and Emma Lee Stelly; two brothers, Austin Lalonde Jr. and Danny Lalonde; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ann LeBlanc Lalonde; parents, Austin Sr. and Rose Guidroz Lalonde; sister, Norma Jean Prudhomme; three brothers, Edmond and Raymond Lalonde and an infant brother; two great-grandchildren, Grace Ann Lambert and Grace Margaret Lalonde. Pallbearers will be Hank Douga Jr., Wayne Lalonde Jr., Corey Lalonde, Patrick Lalonde, Adam Lambert, Russell Guillot Jr. and Jeremy Akin. Honorary pallbearer is Staff Sgt. Jason Douga. He was a talented musician. Special thanks to Generations Hospice and staff, Dr. Kenneth Lo, Dr. Siva Yadlapati and Dr. Bogden Nowakaski.
